City of Houston Cottage Grove LID Green Street Pilot
Award-winning project included redevelopment of an existing roadway as part of a Capital Improvements Plan (CIP) project partially funded by a grant administered through the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Evaluated and analyzed multiple LID tools (porous pavement, vegetated swales, bioretention, and tree boxes) in EPA SWMM5.0.021 (hydrodynamic) model. Developed design details, specifications, cost estimates, and O&M plan for selected LID tools. Developed configuration for monitoring and complied with QAPP. Included flow, total suspended solids (TSS), bacteria, and nutrients. Included control street (roadside ditches), control street (upgraded to storm drain and curb/gutter), and LID street. Prepared planting plan. Performed construction inspection. Included TCEQ Surface Water Quality Regulations.
