Watearth staff are located nationwide, and this role will be located near Austin, TX, Los
Angeles, CA, or the Bay Area, CA
. Collaboration primarily occurs virtually and some field
work is to be expected. As a result, a person who is comfortable with communicating heavily

Let’s discuss compensation. This role will be paid a salary between $65,000 to $85,000
based on experience and geographic location. The position is full-time, but part-time
candidates may be considered.

Roles and Responsibilities:
– Prepare water resources and environmental technical reports and respond to team
and client feedback.
– Work on GIS exhibits and complex analyses.
– Assist in the set up and organization of hydrology/water quality and hydraulics models, floodplain studies, green infrastructure and stormwater designs, and resiliency and sustainability planning documents. Reading and understanding of design plans or as-built drawings is preferred.
– Perform field work, including site visits, soils testing, stormwater inspections, and
biological screenings (depending on background).
– Execute environmental studies and permitting (CEQA/NEPA, wetlands delineations,
Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments, biological studies, etc.).

Minimum Experience Requirements:
– Bachelor of Science in environmental science, engineering, biology, geology, or a
related degree required.
– 3-5 years experience in environmental science or planning.
– Experience with preparing environmental and water resources studies and
documentation.
– Experience with water resources, hydrology, hydraulics, and floodplain management
projects.
– Experience with ArcGIS Pro preferred.
– Ability to work independently and take initiative while maintaining close
communication and collaboration with the team.
– Ability to safely perform field work (comply with COVID-19 vaccination and safety
protocols, possess valid driver’s license and good driving record, maintain personal
transportation with valid vehicle insurance suited to field work, and ability to lift up to
25 pounds).
