USACE Covered Horse Paddock Civil Design-Build
Provided civil site design and SWPPP on this accelerated schedule design-build for a 90-ft by 180-ft covered horse paddock training facility for year-round, all-weather training. Site design elements included: drainage analysis and double-ring infiltrometer testing for saturated hydraulic conductivity of soils. Provided Low Impact Design (LID) in accordance with EISA of 2007, Section 438, to account for the addition of impervious surfaces. Developed a customized infiltration basin design to meeting federal requirements to infiltrate 95th-percentile event. Developed a plant palette and planting plan to accommodate use of paddock by horses. Developed a customized erosion control plan avoiding materials that might negatively impact horses. Complied with a tight design-build schedule and managed base access during COVID pandemic.
